Hi my name is David Mather and I am mainly a self taught artist, painting in Watercolour and Oils, I live with my wife in the beautiful town of Tavistock on the outskirts of Dartmoor in Devon, where a great deal of my inspiration for my paintings come from, also within an hour I can drive to the two coasts of Devon and Cornwall where again a considerable amount of inspiration  comes from.

I have painted since being at school where I sat GCE in art and passed.

I love to paint and sketch En Plein Air as often as I can, and have been very much influenced by the French impressionists and their art and practices, the Newlyn school of artists in Cornwall is another group that I admire.
